Pine County manages zoning in the shorelands under the county shorelands ordinance. Pine County also manages the septic ordinance.

Utilities-The township does not provide any utility services directly.
The planning commission was formed in 2022 in order to develop a comprehensive plan and discuss the need for zoning in the township. The planning commission is currently composed of the 3 supervisors and the clerk. Meetings are on the 1st Tuesday of every month at 8 pm. Meetings are typically held in the board room on the east end of the hall. The commission maintains an informal agenda. If you are unable to attend a meeting but have an issue you would like to be brought before the planning commission, you may call or e-mail the clerk to have your item brought before the commission. Pursuant to MN statute 13D.01 meetings are open to the public.
Schedule
The planning commission will continue to meet on the 1st Tuesday of the month. Meetings will be cancelled by the 3rd Tuesday of the prior month during the regular board meetings if there are no items for the planning commission agenda.
